Product Overview
Carbon & Structural Steel Plate
Carbon and structural steel plate covers hot rolled plate and cut-to-size plate used for structural fabrication, machine frames, base plates, building components, welded assemblies and general industrial projects. This page focuses on common structural plate grades such as ASTM A36, ASTM A572 Grade 50, EN 10025 S235/S275/S355, JIS G3101 SS400, GB/T 700 Q235B and GB/T 1591 Q355B. Pressure vessel, shipbuilding, bridge-special and wear resistant plates are handled under separate product pages.

Typical Applications
- General welded structures and fabrication
- Machinery frames, base plates and equipment supports
- Building components, platforms and brackets
- Cut parts, gusset plates and structural assemblies
- Industrial projects requiring carbon or HSLA plate
Procurement Notes
- Do not mix structural plate with pressure vessel, marine, bridge-special or wear resistant plate unless the project specification explicitly allows it.
- Confirm whether the buyer needs carbon structural plate such as A36/Q235/SS400 or HSLA plate such as A572 Gr.50/S355/Q355.
- For cut parts, provide drawing, cutting method, tolerance, hole processing, marking, packing and inspection requirements together with the RFQ.

Common standards, grades and RFQ terms
These terms reflect common international RFQ language. Final supply must follow the ordered standard edition, project specification, MTC, inspection plan and agreed contract terms.
Buyer FAQ
Questions buyers usually confirm before order
Is A36 plate the same as S355 or Q355?
No. A36 is a common carbon structural plate grade, while S355 and Q355 are higher strength structural grades under different standard systems. The ordered standard and grade must match the project specification.
Can Q345B still be used in an RFQ?
Some buyers still use legacy Q345B wording, but current orders should confirm the applicable Chinese standard edition and whether Q355B is required for the project.
What size information is needed for quotation?
Provide thickness, width, length, quantity, tolerance, cutting requirement, edge condition, surface treatment, MTC level, packing and destination port. Drawings are needed for cut parts.
When should another plate page be used?
Use the pressure vessel, marine, bridge, pipeline, wind, heavy equipment, weathering or wear resistant plate pages when the project requires those dedicated standards or performance requirements.
