Steel Plate & Sheet

Marine, Bridge & Building Plate

Himount supplies project steel plate for shipbuilding, marine structures, bridge fabrication and building steel structures, with grade, certificate and inspection requirements confirmed by project.

Product Overview

Marine, Bridge & Building Plate

Marine, bridge and building plate covers project structural steel plate used in ship hulls, offshore components, bridges, steel buildings, welded frames and heavy structural fabrication. Himount separates this page from ordinary structural plate because these projects often require classification society approval, bridge design standards, impact testing, Z-direction properties, traceability and project drawing review. Common RFQ language includes ASTM A131 shipbuilding plate, AH36/DH36/EH36 marine plate, ASTM A709 bridge plate, GB/T 714 bridge steel and EN 10025 S355 structural plate.

Size rangeThickness, width and length are confirmed by project drawing, grade, certificate requirement, mill capability and cutting plan. Buyers should provide plate list or nesting drawings where available.
Order details to confirmProject standard, grade, classification society or bridge code, thickness, width, length, delivery condition, impact temperature, UT class, Z-performance, marking, packing, MTC and destination port.

Typical Applications

  • Ship hull structures and marine structural parts
  • Offshore platforms and port equipment structures
  • Bridge girders, decks, ribs and welded bridge assemblies
  • Steel buildings, long-span structures and heavy frames
  • Project cut parts requiring inspection and traceability

Procurement Notes

  • For marine projects, confirm the required classification society before quotation because certificate routing affects mill selection and inspection.
  • For bridge projects, provide bridge code, grade, toughness requirement, UT class, weathering requirement and approved drawing list.
  • For building structures, confirm whether EN 10025 S355, ASTM A709, GB/T 714 or local project standards govern the order.

Buyer FAQ

Questions buyers usually confirm before order

Is AH36 plate the same as ordinary structural plate?

No. AH36 is a shipbuilding high-strength grade commonly ordered with classification society requirements. It should not be treated as ordinary carbon structural plate.

Which certificate is needed for marine plate?

The required class, such as ABS, DNV, LR, BV or CCS, depends on the vessel, owner and project specification. The class requirement should be stated before quotation.

What should bridge plate RFQs include?

Confirm bridge code, grade, thickness, width, length, impact temperature, UT class, weathering requirement, Z-performance, drawings, MTC and inspection authority.

Can one plate grade cover marine, bridge and building use?

Only when the project standard permits it. Marine, bridge and building projects can share similar strength levels, but certification and inspection requirements are different.
