Himount supports duplex stainless pipe, tube and plate, plus CRA clad plate or clad pipe project supply where base steel strength and corrosion resistant alloy surfaces are specified together. Orders are reviewed by service condition, standard, UNS grade, PREN or corrosion requirement, base metal, clad layer, welding, NDT, MTC and project inspection plan.

Do not treat duplex or CRA as a generic stainless item. Confirm UNS number, service environment, heat treatment, ferrite range, corrosion test and MTC before production release.

For clad products, confirm base metal, CRA layer alloy, clad thickness, bonding route, UT scope, shear or bend test, PMI, NDT and the project inspection and test plan.

Questions to settle before quotation

What is the difference between duplex stainless and ordinary stainless?

Duplex stainless combines austenitic and ferritic structures, giving higher strength and stronger chloride stress corrosion resistance than many common austenitic grades. Final performance still depends on UNS grade, heat treatment, temperature and test requirements.

Which standards are usually used?

ASTM A790 is common for seamless and welded duplex pipe, ASTM A928 for electric-fusion-welded duplex pipe, ASTM A240 for stainless plate and sheet, and ASTM A265 for nickel or nickel-base alloy clad steel plate.

What should be confirmed for CRA clad products?

Confirm base metal, CRA layer alloy, clad thickness, bonding route, UT or NDT scope, shear or bend test, corrosion test, MTC level, inspection plan and service environment before quotation.

Can photos prove 2205, 2507 or CRA clad material?

No. Photos only show product form and packing condition. Final material grade must be verified by MTC, PMI, project inspection and the ordered standard.
