Typical Applications

Where stainless sheet, plate and coil is used

Fabrication and equipmentTanks, panels, brackets, enclosures, machinery covers, pressure parts and corrosion-resistant fabricated components.
Architecture and visible surfacesInterior panels, elevators, doors, decorative cladding, handrail components and polished or hairline finish surface work.
Food, chemical and process useFood equipment, kitchen equipment, chemical handling, water treatment and process environments requiring grade and surface control.
Surface finish note

Surface terms such as 2B, BA, No.4, HL and mirror should be confirmed with protection film, roughness or sample requirements when visual quality matters.

Flat product order note

For coil, sheet and plate, small differences in thickness tolerance, flatness, edge, packing and protective film can change the quotation route and delivery plan.

Buyer FAQ

Questions to settle before quotation

Which standard is usually used for stainless flat products?

ASTM A240 is a common product specification for stainless plate, sheet and strip. ASTM A480 covers general flat-rolled stainless requirements including ordering, testing and dimensional conditions.

How should coil, sheet and plate be distinguished?

State whether the order is coil, slit strip, sheet, cut sheet or plate, then confirm thickness, width, length or coil weight, tolerance, surface finish, edge and packing.

Which grades are commonly requested?

Common requests include 201, 304, 304L, 316L, 321, 310S and 430. Final supply must follow the ordered standard, equivalent grade and mill test certificate.

What surface details should be confirmed?

Confirm No.1, 2B, BA, No.4, HL, mirror, embossed or checkered surface, plus PVC film, paper interleave, pallet packing and special surface inspection if needed.
