Product Overview
Galvalume & Al-Zn Coated Steel
Himount supplies Galvalume, Al-Zn coated steel coil, aluminum-zinc alloy coated sheet, slit coil and cut-to-length material for roofing, wall cladding, outdoor building envelopes, appliance backing and prepainted steel substrates. This product is different from regular zinc galvanized steel because the metallic coating is commonly based on a 55% aluminum-zinc alloy system, with coating designation, surface treatment, spangle and paint compatibility confirmed before offer.

Typical Applications
- Roofing and wall cladding systems
- Outdoor building panels and flashings
- Prepainted steel coil substrate
- Appliance backing and light fabrication
- Long-life corrosion-protected sheet applications
Procurement Notes
- Confirm whether the buyer requires regular galvanized zinc coating or 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coating.
- Specify coating designation clearly, such as AZ55 under ASTM A792 or AZ150 under EN style RFQs.
- For roofing or prepainted use, confirm surface treatment, passivation, anti-fingerprint or resin coating, paint compatibility and wet storage protection.

Buyer FAQ
Questions buyers usually confirm before order
Is Galvalume the same as galvanized steel?
No. Galvanized steel uses a zinc coating, while Galvalume or Al-Zn coated steel commonly uses a 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coating system. The standards, coating designations and performance profile differ.
What is the difference between AZ55 and AZ150?
AZ55 is an ASTM A792 coating designation, while AZ150 is commonly used in EN/international RFQs as a coating mass reference. They should be quoted under the buyer-selected standard.
Can Galvalume be used as prepainted steel substrate?
Yes. Al-Zn coated coil is commonly used as a substrate for prepainted roofing and wall cladding. Surface treatment, paint compatibility and coating mass should be confirmed.
What should be confirmed for roofing orders?
Confirm standard, base grade, coating designation, thickness, width, surface treatment, spangle, oiling or anti-fingerprint requirement, packing and outdoor exposure conditions.
